Every shipment of poultry starts long before it reaches a port. In Poland, poultry is carefully farmed and prepared for market, beginning a journey that depends on precision, temperature control and coordination, every step of the way. Whether fresh or frozen, maintaining product quality from origin to destination requires more than just transportation, it requires a fully integrated cold chain.

From the farm to the cold chain

The journey often begins on farms across Poland, where poultry is raised and prepared for distribution.

From the start, handling matters. Lineage’s managed transportation services help ensure the product moves from farm to facility under controlled conditions, preserving quality as it enters the cold chain.

Locking in freshness with blast freezing

Using Lineage’s blast freezing technology, poultry is quickly brought down to approximately –22°C. This rapid freezing process helps lock in freshness and maintain product integrity while preparing it for longer-term storage and global distribution.

This step protects everything that comes before it, helping ensure the product remains consistent in quality throughout the remainder of its cold chain journey.

Preparing poultry for export

As orders are placed, the product moves from storage into preparation. Pallets are pulled, repacked and staged for shipment based on customer needs.

From there, poultry is loaded into temperature-controlled containers and transported to Port Gdańsk using Lineage’s drayage services, covering the short distance between facility and port quickly and efficiently. Speed and efficiency help protect the product’s quality as it transitions between steps in the cold chain.

Navigating global trade

Shipments move through customs clearance, either through external agencies or supported by Lineage’s customs brokerage services, before being prepared for international transport.

Lineage’s freight forwarding teams manage documentation and logistics, helping ensure the product is properly loaded onto vessels and made ready for its journey across the sea.

Helping poultry reach global markets

Once overseas, the journey enters its final phase. Poultry shipments arrive in regions such as West Africa and Southeast Asia, where they are distributed to local restaurants, grocery stores and foodservice providers. From there, the product is prepared and served, ready for consumers.

Lineage has what it takes to move poultry across the world

It’s easy to forget the journey poultry has to go through before ever reaching your plate. But, what looks like a simple meal at its destination is actually the result of a journey shaped by timing, temperature and coordination at every step.

From the first mile at the farm to blast freezing, port handling and international delivery, each moment carries weight. Delays, temperature shifts or missteps don’t just slow things down, they can impact quality. Lineage operates within those moments, connecting each handoff across the cold chain to help keep poultry protected, consistent and moving forward from origin to destination.
